Cheese Fries Made From Boiled Potatoes

Crispy Cheesy Potato Sticks

A tasty snack made from leftover boiled potatoes – kids and adults will love it!

 Servings: 2

 Time: Under 30 minutes

 Ingredients:

  • 2 medium boiled potatoes, peeled

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (plus more if needed)

  • 1 teaspoon parsley powder (or finely chopped fresh parsley)

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoons cheese powder (or finely grated Parmesan cheese)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus extra for frying or drizzling)

  • Optional: Parmesan cheese or extra cheese for topping

  • Optional: Ketchup or any dipping sauce

 Instructions:

Step 1: Boil & Mash the Potatoes

  • If not already boiled, cook the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15 minutes).

  • Drain, peel (if not done already), and mash the potatoes until smooth. Avoid large lumps.

Step 2: Make the Potato Dough

  • In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes with:

    • 2 tablespoons flour

    • Parsley powder

    • Black pepper

    • Garlic powder

    • Cheese powder

  • Mix everything well until it forms a soft, uniform dough.

  • Tip: If the dough feels too sticky or wet, add a little more flour gradually.

Step 3: Adjust the Dough Texture

  • Transfer the dough into a lightly greased bowl.

  • Check the texture: If it’s too sticky to handle, mix in more flour, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it’s pliable but not dry.

 Step 4: Shape the Dough

  • Take a small portion of dough and roll it into a stick or log shape using your hands.

  • Slice the logs gently into thin potato sticks using a knife. Keep them evenly sized for uniform cooking.

 Step 5: Prepare for Frying

  • Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the sticks, or brush them lightly.

  • Heat a shallow pan with olive oil on medium-high heat.

Step 6: Cook the Potato Sticks

  • Add the potato sticks to the hot pan in a single layer.

  • Fry each side for 1–2 minutes or until the outside turns golden and crispy.

  • Since the potatoes are already cooked, they don’t need long – just a crisp crust.

 Step 7: Cool Slightly

  • Once golden, transfer the fries to a cooling rack or plate lined with a paper towel to drain excess oil and cool slightly.

 Step 8: Serve & Enjoy

  • Serve the crispy cheese potato sticks in a bowl.

  • Optionally, sprinkle extra cheese powder or grated Parmesan on top while still warm.

  • Pair with ketchup, garlic mayo, or enjoy as is!
